Crimes are committed every day in our Country in the thousands. Some of the criminals get caught, some get away, but the ones that do get caught get thrown into prisons with little thought to rehabilitation. When they get out, many criminals go back to the same things that got them into prison in the first place. Sometimes it’s not enough to just throw someone in person. Often, they need to be shown the consequences of their actions and be encouraged not to make the same ones again in the future.

One hundred billion dollars go to incarcerating people every year, and the funds come from taxpayers. Of that money, not even 1% of it is spent trying to rehabilitate those who are incarcerated. It only makes sense why we have so many repeat offenders. We have made our prisons institutes of crime instead of institutes of reform, but Car Angel brings hope.

Car Angel fights to distribute literature to prisons that inspire inmates to change their ways from the inside out. Prisoners are encouraged to become productive members of society and to turn away from their former ways, and it works! Thanks to the books the prisons have received, taxpayers save about 160,000,000 a year from prisoners who do not return.
